Why We Work the Way We Do
Concrete Contractor Lyons grew out of a frustration we kept running into on tear-out jobs. Again and again, the driveways and patios we broke up told the same story: two or three inches of concrete over loose dirt, no stone base worth mentioning, no slope and no joints. They had looked fine on the day they were finished. They simply were not built for the weight and weather they would face.
So our work is built around a few steady habits. Dig to firm soil. Compact a real base. Pour each slab thick enough for what will sit on it, and reinforce it where the load demands. Pitch it so water leaves. Cut joints where cracks should go. Then let it cure properly before anyone drives on it.
Those habits carry through every kind of work we do, whether it is a walk to the front door, a stamped patio, a foundation for an addition or a dumpster pad behind a restaurant. The finish on top changes. The care underneath does not.
